Lucy is Brilliant!

Lucy watching a sea otter swim at the zoo in Seattle.

Lucy watched me as I packed up on Friday for my trip home. While I was packing, I commented to Lucy, how Auntie Lorelai was crazy, bringing so many short sleeve t-shirts and shorts, thinking Seattle would be warm. Lucy said, "I'm crazy, too. I thought it would be cold in California and I brought too many long sleeve shirts." Lucy visited the Bay Area in early Sept. and she is only 3 and 1/2. I'll have to remember to enter Lucy comments or maybe I'll start a blog to record Lucy's remarks. Of course being her aunt, I'm bias :), but she sure is quick on her feet.

Race

N.O., Luke, and I walked in our first Run to the Far Side race yesterday (11/27). The weather was quite nippy at 7am on Sunday morning. Nearly 6,000 people participated in the race. N.O. was too fast for Luke and me, we lost her about 5 minutes into the race. Luke received his first bib and earned his first long sleeve t-shirt.

Happy post Thanksgiving!

Welcome back flowers. Luke is the sweetest!!

Wedding Photography

Me asked me to be her wedding photographer. I love taking photos, but usually photos of nature, produce, food, flowers (i.e. things that do not move or barely move). I think Me is wacko, but I'm looking forward to it. I've been researching on cameras and looking at some wedding photographers' sites. Some of these photographs are amazing. This site: Wedding Photojournalism Association is an amazing resource for B&G who likes the photojournalistic style.

Things to Do in Atlanta

Luke will be heading to Atlanta in about a week. If he has time, here is a list of things for him to see and do. I didn't realize Atlanta actually has quite a few tourist attractions. I thought my hometown was made of malls, strip malls, and more malls :).

Top 10 Attractions

General Neighborhood Description:
version 1
version 2(Yahoo version)

Specific Neighborhood Description:
Virginia Highland
-cute neighborhood, restaurants
-accessible by MARTA train and bus

Buckhead
-lots of bars, night clubs
-accessible by MARTA train, Buckhead Station

Little Five Points
-back in the late 80's, early 90's, this neighborhood was the "alternative", Doc Martin, pierced body parts neighborhood, now I don't know
-accessible by MARTA train, Inman Park Station

Atlanta Attractions:
The Varsity
-famous for their chili dogs, onion rings, and orange frosty
-accessible by MARTA train, North Avenue Station

Underground Atlanta
-tourist trap, but fun place to see, since everything is underground, shops

CNN Studio Tour
-never been myself

Atlanta Botanical Gardens
-might have gone when I was in grade school
-accessible by MARTA bus

Olympic Park
-where the 1996 Olympic bombing took place
-worth about 10 minutes

World of Coca Cola
-they don't reveal the Coca Cola formula to you, but you get to sample some Coke products that are distributed to other places in the world

Stone Mountain Park
-will need a car to get to
-a giant granite, literally a big rock park, with grass surrounding the rock

Margaret Mitchell House
-never been myself, never even seen "gwtw" myself, shame on me :)

The King Center
-never been myself
-Martin Luther King Jr. memorial

So, the next time I go back, I can use this list myself:).
